After marijuana became legal in almost 14 states in the US, growing marijuana has become an American pastime. There are many reasons for this and one of the main reasons is for medical purpose. With the increased interest in growing marijuana indoors, there are many guides available on the internet that people can use to grow marijuana on their own. However, growing, possessing or making use of marijuana is still a criminal offense and is punishable under the federal law. Although the 14 states have legalised the use of medical cannabis, it must be understand that growing is only legal to those who have acquired a license to do so. A license is only issued to patients of serious medical conditions who have the need to use marijuana in the treatment of their conditions. Apart from the patients, it is those group of people who have acquired a license to operate a medical marijuana dispensary may grow the substance. In this article, I am not going to go into the details of growing this substance at home, but I will simply give an overview of how the process works. This may be useful for those who have acquired a medical marijuana registry card and are looking to grow marijuana at home.
There are four basic steps of growing medical marijuana indoors. These include the following:
1. Getting the seeds – the first and the most essential thing you need to grow marijuana is the seeds. There are many people who have a seed collection of one kind or the other and you can ask your friends whether they have the seeds you use to grow the plant.
2. Germinating the seeds – germinating the seed is a simple process. Although it is possible to get the plants by simply dropping the seeds in moist soil, it is recommended to germinate the seeds first so you can be sure of getting the plants. To germinate the seeds, you can use moist paper towels or a moist sponge.
You can place the seeds in between the paper towels or moist sponge and leave them for a day or two. In a day or two, you will notice that the seeds have already germinated.
3. Planting – once the seed has begun to sprout, you can plant it in moist soil.
4. Lighting – lighting is really important so make sure that you supply enough light to the plants. You can use artificial lights and hang them two inches above the soil.
These are the four basic steps for growing marijuana indoors.

Medical marijuana is one of the fastest growing industries in the US. This is due to the fact that physicians believe that marijuana has healing properties and can be used for medicinal purposes. Although almost 14 states in the US can make use of marijuana legally, possessing marijuana is still a criminal offense under the federal law. Apart from these 14 states, marijuana is not yet legal in the rest of the states of the United States of America. Since marijuana has a number of healing properties and can help victims suffering from AIDS, cancer, arthritis, glaucoma and so on, a large number of people are trying to find out how to grow marijuana legally.
In those states where marijuana has been made legal, there are still restrictions as to how much a person can possess and how many plants he can grow. If you are looking for information on how to grow marijuana legally, then you must also find out information on what the current state laws are and the requirements that you need to meet to be able to grow marijuana legally. There are different laws set out by the different states which have made the use of marijuana legal in their states. The 14 states where marijuana can be grown legally in the US include Alaska, California, Hawaii, Colorado, Maine, Montana, Michigan, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington, Vermont and Rhode Island.
Although there are different laws in each of the 14 states, you need to be a patient suffering from a debilitating medical condition to be able to acquire a license to possess marijuana for medicinal purposes. Moreover, you will need to prove this with a written recommendation from a physician and complete a form which you will need to send to the Registry office before they grant you permission to use the substance legally.

Smoking or consuming medical marijuana is legal in 15 states in the United States. California is the first one to adapt this kind of rules in accordance to the Compassionate Use Act (CUA), which was passed in 1996. It is the only state where qualified patients as well as their primary caregivers can grow and cultivate their own marijuana. California marijuana cultivation laws strictly states that possession of the drug should not be more than, eight ounces, six matured or 12 immature plants. They can also grow not more than six plants in their own yard. However, qualified patients and caregivers can have more than stated above only if it is specified by a licensed doctor that is knowledgeable about medical marijuana treatment.
So, how do you smoke medical marijuana legally? California marijuana cultivation laws and other house bills draft these requirements before you can utilize marijuana:
You need to be a qualified patient. To whether you are eligible, you have to consult a licensed medical doctor or any specialist that is licensed to recommend a medical marijuana treatment. The state of California has a complete roster of specialists that can give recommendations and is found on their health department website.
Get a recommendation for a medical marijuana treatment from your doctor. Documentation about the said recommendation is also required. Be sure that important details such as the reason for recommendation, a diagnosis, and the doctor’s license number should be included. Remember that not all consultations end up on a recommendation.
Lastly, you have to apply for a medical marijuana identification card at the Medical Marijuana Program (MMP).
Dispensaries in the state of California do not accept medical marijuana identification cards from other states and countries. They may also have a registration fee but this is voluntary. Moreover, federal laws are imposed outside the state perimeters. Be sure you are not intoxicated or do not carry any form of marijuana when you travel.

Medical Marijuana is a term used to denote the administration of Marijuana for “debilitating” medical conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, etc., or severe conditions with symptoms that can be eased by use of the drug – severe pain and nausea, seizures, multiple sclerosis, et al. There are important clauses and rules in effect since the year 2000 that the Colorado Marijuana Clinic wants every medical marijuana patient to be aware of, lest the patient or its parent/primary caregiver do something unlawful and punishable.
Before a patient can start the use of cannabis, it is necessary to ask his physician for three things:
1. The risks and benefits of medical use of Marijuana, especially in relation to the patient’s debilitating condition.
2. A written documentation signed by the physician stating that the patient has a debilitating condition that calls for the medical administration of Marijuana.
3. A patient should also never procure marijuana unless he receives the registry identification card.
Without procuring the above, no patient should self-medicate himself with Marijuana, according to the laws of the state, states the Colorado Marijuana Clinic. The section does not provide protection to any patient or caregiver to acquire, sell, manufacture and produce, distribute or dispense, or transport Marijuana for any use which is not medical.
A patient and his caregivers should also remember that Marijuana seized from them by local authorities should immediately be returned once the district attorney proves that the patient is entitled to such protection by the amendment. Confidentiality is a primary concern among many patients, and under not circumstances will any medical facility, marijuana dispensary or the Colorado Marijuana Clinic will reveal the patient’s names and identity.
Once a patient’s conditions are not debilitating anymore, he is required to return his identification card. No patient my posses more than two ounces of medical marijuana, and no more than six marijuana plants, with three or fewer flowering with mature seeds. Use of Marijuana is strictly prohibited in view of the general public or in public places. For patients under the age of eighteen, two physicians have to diagnose debilitating medical conditions. Notwithstanding all of this, the amendment was to provide medical patients with reprieve from their conditions, and most clauses can be “bent”, if and only if the patient’s medically debilitating conditions required so.

The cost of this entire operation to seize $100 million dollars in marijuana, one can only fathom. Officers think they are actually serving and protecting the community in these situations but they are only adding to the black market economy, rather than our own.
“DEA will no longer raid medical marijuana outlets.” said Barack Obama (Inauguration). September 10th, 2009; Authorities say 31 people have been arrested in a sting that targeted medical marijuana distributors in San Diego County. Just another raid conducted after Obama’s inauguration, when will it stop? The facts are in and marijuana’s benefit on a medical community is very promising. From cancers to multiple sclerosis marijuana seems to aid, reducing tumor growth to just the simplicity of enjoying the every day things.
As we cross into the economical benefit of legalizing marijuana we begin to see green, and I’m not talking about marijuana, I’m talking about money! Marijuana and hemp are both HUGE cash crops that can be taxed like alcohol bringing in billions of dollars. Officers in California, the nation’s biggest hotbeds for marijuana production, have chopped down plants with a combined street value of around $12 billion in the first eight months of this year. While national numbers aren’t yet available this year, officers around the country increased their haul from 7 million plants in 2007 to 8 million in 2008. What a waste of time, money, and effort. TAX IT! Instead of spending billions on preventing marijuana use, billions on eliminating marijuana grows, billions on jail systems and court fees, but instead, make money by simply taxing it.
Just like the TARP bailout (October 3rd, 2008) Obama must do this in order to protect our National Security against the invasion of this country by Mexican Drug Cartels that have infiltrated over 230 major American cities. By doing these two things the Drug Cartels will be destroyed within weeks without the expenditure of any further blood or treasure, on the part of the American People. You see each year the Mexican Drug Cartels grow ever more dangerous because Marijuana Prohibition constitutes nearly 70 percent of their annual drug profits: about 27 Billion dollars each year. So by simply allowing adult Americans to “grow their own” Marijuana the Mexican Drug Cartels will cease to exist and we can focus on other more serious socio-economic issues.

10 Legal Uses for Your Marijuana Seeds
It’s no secret that many countries ban the sale of cannabis. It’s slightly less known that in many of these countries the actual cannabis seeds are legally allowed to be bought and sold. We whole-heartedly support these measures and only recommend our cannabis seeds are used for novelty purposes, as you can imagine but often we get asked exactly what people should use them for. Well, here’s what we do with our spare cannabis seeds – hopefully it’ll inspire you!
1. One for the Mantle Piece
Impress your friends with your fine collection of rare cannabis seeds by putting them on display. I personally have a collection of 127 marijuana seeds, each one lovingly laid out on its own plush red cushion in a glass display case. Not only do they show you to be the expert collector you are, but they make great conversation starters.
2. An Expensive Form of Birdseed
If you’re in a country where the purchasing of cannabis seeds is legal, then there’s no reason not to feed them to your birds. Hemp is a common component of seed mixes for birds, and many report that our feathered friends will eat the cannabis seeds first. It’s no surprise when you consider how full of nutrients the humble marijuana seed is – each one is packed with magnesium-rich chlorophyll and protein, making it a nutritious and easy to digest treat. In 1937 when the bird seed companies testified before congress regarding the legalities of marijuana seeds, they are reported to have stated that “canaries won’t sing without it”.
3. Make Your Own Rainstick
A rainstick is a long hollow tube filled with beads of beans. When the stick is held up, all the filling fall down, and creates a sound like heavy rain falling. If you have enough cannabis seeds lying around, why not try your hand at constructing your own? Wholesome fun which is resolutely not illegal!
4. Make a Rattle for an Infant
If that doesn’t work (which it won’t), consider scaling down your aims and constructing a rattle. Simply drop a handful of cannabis seeds into an empty matchbox, securely fasten it shut and attach a pencil for a rattle on a budget.
5. Bring the Spirit of Summer with Miniature Boulles
Missing boulles on the lawn and the spirit of summer? Why not recreate the fun of boulles with your cannabis seeds. Paint each seed the colour you want, and then recreate the skilled sport of the elderly in your own living room.
6. Thrifty Christmas Presents
Economically speaking, times are hard and getting the money together for Christmas presents can be tricky. Although not the cheapest seeds, a bag of marijuana will still provide one seed each for all your family and friends – and when they see all of the novel, fun and, best of all, legal things they can do with their gift, they’re sure to offer you their sincere and whole-hearted thanks.
7. Leave a Trail to Find your Way Around
Hansel and Gretel had the right idea – they left a trail of breadcrumbs in the woods to find their way out. Of course it backfires on them when the breadcrumbs are eaten – which is why using cannabis seeds to find your way works best indoors. You should also make sure only to use them on white surfaces so they really show up clearly. Still, if you’re ever lost in a white floored palace, then you could use your cannabis seeds for navigation… I suppose.
8. Make Some Fine Cannabis Seed Art
Many of those who claim cannabis should be grown illegally point to the fine art that has been created by those using the ‘high’ of the finished drug. But kids, you don’t need to be high to make great art – try using the seeds themselves! You can paint the seeds and make them into a mosaic or a mural!
9. Make Yourself a Comfy Beanbag
Beanbags typically have thousands of polystyrene balls inside, but why not put your cannabis seeds to good use and fill a beanbag with them? Sure, it will cost a few thousand pounds more than buying polystyrene balls, but a beanbag full of cannabis seeds (probably) feels a lot more comfortable and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing yours is indefinably better.
10. Guess the Number of Marijuana Seeds in the Jar
A great way of recouping some of your losses on the marijuana seed beanbag is to put your remaining seeds in a jar, and have a competition amongst your friends over who can guess the correct number. If you put the price to play high enough, you could even make a profit on your comfy, comfy beanbag.
So use your cannabis seeds for any of these purposes, but make sure you don’t grow them under any circumstances! It can only end in tears.
